The Shinty Match When Calum, Cameron and Sandy – three boys in the Achmuchty shinty team – are refused sponsorship from a local joiner, powerhouse Sheena takes them on hand and tries to rally their flagging spirits. Neil Beaton was raised in the highlands not far from Beauly. He played shinty at Teanassie Primary School, Inverness Royal Academy and Glasgow University (where he was for a time the treasurer of the shinty team). He has won prizes for short stories in competitions run by The Herald and Radio Clyde. This is his first novel.
